What the terms actually say

Section 12.2 — Dispute Resolution

Any controversies, conflicts, disputes, or differences arising out of these Terms shall be resolved by arbitration in New Delhi in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996... The tribunal shall consist of 1 (One) arbitrator appointed by us.

You are forced into binding private arbitration in New Delhi, with the arbitrator chosen solely by the company.

Section 6.3 — User Content License

The User hereby grants to NDTV a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, fully sublicensable right and licence to copy, modify, display, distribute, perform, create derivative works from, store and otherwise use and exploit, all User Information...

You grant the company a permanent, irrevocable license to use your content for any purpose, which survives account termination.

Section 9.2 — Liability Cap

NDTV’s aggregate monetary liability to you shall not exceed INR 1000.

The company limits its total financial liability to you to approximately 12 USD, regardless of the harm caused.

Section 10.4 — Government Disclosure

Subject to applicable laws, NDTV may be directed by law enforcement agencies or the government and related bodies to disclose data... You hereby agree and acknowledge that in NDTV shall have the right to share such data with relevant agencies or bodies.

The company explicitly reserves the right to share your data with government or law enforcement agencies.

Section 13.1 — Modification of Terms

Such modifications and additional terms and conditions will be communicated to you.

The company commits to notifying you of changes to the terms.
