What the terms actually say

Section 15 — Disputes—Arbitration

Any dispute, claim, or cause of action... shall be resolved by confidential binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than in court... You and MediaLab each waive your respective rights to a jury trial for Disputes.

You cannot sue the company in court or join a class action; you must use private arbitration.

Section 6c — Your License to Us

You grant MediaLab a nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable, and fully sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, host, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, run, publicly perform or display your User Content.

The company has broad, permanent rights to use your content for any purpose, including marketing.

Section 17 — Termination

MediaLab reserves the right, without notice and in its sole discretion, to terminate your license to use the Services... at any time and to block or prevent your future access... for any or no reason.

The company can delete your account and access at any time without warning.

Section 5 — How We Respond to Violations

We will investigate activity... and, where appropriate, may provide information about your use of the Services to law enforcement authorities and other third parties.

The company reserves the right to share your data with authorities at their discretion.

Additional License Terms

you grant us a... irrevocable, worldwide license... to... researching and developing new products and services.

The company claims an irrevocable right to use your content to train AI models.

Section 19 — Changes to Terms

If we make changes to these Terms, we will provide notice by posting a notice on the Services and will give you an opportunity to review the changes before they go into effect.

The company commits to notifying you of changes before they become active.
