What the terms actually say

Section 8.2 — User Content License

In this agreement you give Fiction Express Education Ltd. the right to use the material in your or your students’ contribution in any way it may reasonably choose on a free-of-charge basis for an unlimited time throughout the world and irrespective of the medium used

You grant the company a permanent, global, and free license to use your and your students' work in any medium, forever.

Section 10.1 — Unilateral Modifications

Fiction Express Education Ltd. decides solely on the content of the Fiction Express website and reserves its right to develop, delete, amend and otherwise make changes to the website without any prior notice to you or other members.

The company can change the terms or the service at any time without notifying you.

Section 7.2 — Cancellation Penalty

When your membership is cancelled, whatever time remains on your Fiction Express membership subscription is forfeited.

If your account is cancelled, you lose any prepaid subscription time.

Section 6.5 — Security Commitment

However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

The company disclaims responsibility for security and makes no commitment to notify users in the event of a data breach.

Section 6.2 — Data Processing

Therefore, if you do not allow us to process personal data about you, we cannot handle your membership. For this reason, we ask you to cancel your membership by emailing us at [email protected] if you do not wish to allow us to process your personal data.

You cannot opt out of data processing; you must cancel your account via email if you disagree with their data practices.
