What the terms actually say

Section 5 — Content of Information

By submitting information to PBS, you grant PBS a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, transmit, copy and display such information in any and all media now know or hereinafter devised

You grant PBS a permanent, global, and royalty-free license to use your content in any media, existing or future.

Section 11 — Modifications

These rules may be modified by PBS from time to time and such modifications will be binding on you when placed online.

PBS can change these terms at any time without providing you with any notice.

Section 10 — Release and Indemnity

YOU ALSO AGREE TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS, PBS AND THE MEMBER STATIONS, FROM AND AGAINST, ANY AND ALL CLAIMS OR LIABILITY, INCLUDING COSTS AND ATTORNEYS FEES, ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF PBS ONLINE®

You must pay for PBS's legal defense and any damages if they are sued due to your actions.

Section 3 — Disclosure of Online Communications

PBS may also disclose any communications to the extent permitted or required by law.

PBS may share your private communications with law enforcement or other parties if they believe it is legally required.

Section 9 — Limitation of Damages

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES... SHALL PBS OR THE MEMBER STATIONS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES

PBS disclaims all liability for any damages resulting from your use of the service, regardless of the cause.
