What the terms actually say

Section 14(d) — User Generated Content

agrees to assign all intellectual property rights in any user generated content created by the Attendee at an Event to Energy

You are required to hand over ownership of any content you create during the event to the company.

Section 11 — Liability

The Attendee shall indemnify and hold harmless Energy, its affiliates and Energy’s employees... from any and all claims, damages, liabilities and expenses

You must pay for the company's legal defense and any damages if a third party sues them because of your actions.

Section 9 — Privacy

agreeing to S&P Global Inc. and its affiliates... sharing information provided by you with the Group and/or third parties whose products or services we believe may be of interest to you.

The company shares your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Section 6 — Attendee Cancellation

If cancellation notice is served by the Attendee less than thirty (30) Calendar Days before the first day of the Event, the Attendee is not entitled to receive any refund of Fees already paid.

You cannot get a refund if you cancel within 30 days of the event.

Section 16 — Law and Courts

The parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of any courts located in the Borough of Manhattan in the City of New York

Any legal disputes must be handled in New York courts.
